The Adair County Jail is a home to those individuals who’ve been arrested within the county limits. This county typically only has individuals who call this area home. However, when this county facility houses people from other counties, there are even states, for that matter.
The Adair County Jail is under the watchful eye of Sheriff Ritchie. More on him below.
Inmate Search
The inmate roster is available on this site. The roster gives you all information, including mugshots for the inmates. This inmate list is updated a few times a day.
However, like any other manually inputted data, you may discover some errors. The Adair County Jail tries not to have any mistakes, but you can always call the sheriff’s office or the correctional center directly in the chance that there are. They will be happy to fix the error and give you the correct information.
You are more than welcome to contact them about an inmate at any time of the day. They will help you find out if an inmate has been released or what time they will be getting released, and where you can pick them up.
Inmate Mail
One of the more economical ways to talk to an inmate is to be their penpal. Of course, you would hate to do this when you want to hear their voice, but voice calls can cost you some serious coin.
Writing is an excellent way to convey what you feel, how you think, and everything in between without the massive cost behind it. Inmates can write you letters as you can write them letters. All letters coming to the facility must get sent through USPS. All letters leaving the facility will get shipped through USPS.
All letters will always get read when they leave the facility or come into the facility for safety protocols.
Please do not put perfume/cologne, lipstick, crayon, marker, glitter, staples, or stickers in or on the notes when sending letters. This is one way that your letter will get sent back to you.
Also, every time you send a letter, you must always have your return address on it. This is mandatory. If you do not have your return address on it, it will get discarded without getting to the inmate.
Jason Ritchie, Sheriff
Jason Ritchie has been sheriff of Adair County since 2017. Just recently, he has sworn into office again for his second term.
Ritchie is not only responsible for his team of deputies. He is also responsible for the daily operation over at the Adair County Jail.
Ritchie has a background in law enforcement and was a cop before moving up the ranks. He knows what it is like in the area and continually strives to make the county better for everyone involved.
Inmate Money
The market, which is worked and coordinated through Keefe Store, give a prisoner the occasion to buy things, for instance, snacks, additional attire, neat things, stamps, and envelopes, etc., notwithstanding what is given by Control Spot.
The store is a favored position, not a right! The Working environment may suspend this ideal situation for a questionable period when it is settled that the miscreant’s thriving and government assistance(s), staff, or possibly office is risked. Suspension may correspondingly get set up on program conclusive issues.
For this piece of elbowroom, invigorates are set by Keefe Store and are committed to change at whatever point.
Inmate Calls
Inmates within the Adair County Jail have two options to choose from when calling home.
They can do the traditional way by calling collect. While it is annoying, this method is sometimes cheaper than the next method we are going to talk about. If you have mobile phones and only mobile phones, you will need to contact them to see if you can accept collect calls.
The next method is to use a prepaid account. A prepaid account is when the facility contracts with a third-party for their phone services. This account goes through NCIC as of right now. You can ask the facility how to set up the account or call the company directly. This method sometimes can be more than collect calls.
Inmate Visits
Since 2020, the visitation has stopped. This is thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic that caught the world by surprise. It does not appear to be letting up anytime soon. If you have someone in the Adair County Jail, you will NOT be allowed to go in and visit them. Visits are currently CANCELLED.
You can stay in touch with the Adair County Jail to find out if/when they will offer remote visits or allow in-person visits again.
Until then, do not come to the correctional center as you will not be allowed to enter through the front doors. This is to keep you safe and the inmates that they have custody of safe too.
If you have any questions, just call.
