The mission of Franklin County Jail is to keep the community safe by providing a safe, secure place for offenders. They also seek to rehabilitate prisons by offering them rights, privileges, and resources.

How to Search for an Inmate

You can also call 518-483-6795 to get general prisoner information such as whether a prisoner is at the facility or not.

After you have completed your search, you will want to write down pertinent information such as the offender’s date of birth, arrest date, booking number, and any other information you think you may need.

This information will help you to be able to send mail, speak to an inmate, and visit. Information on the website is updated twice per hour.

Staying in Contact with an Inmate

Research has shown that inmate’s who have positive friends and relatives who stay in contact with them have a greater chance of rehabilitation.

Because those who have a positive support system can be rehabilitated more easily, the Franklin County Jail encourages friends and family to stay in contact. You can do this in the following ways:

Sending Mail

In order for an inmate to purchase these items, they must have money on their account. Friends and family can put money on this account.

You can also send cash to the prisoner in the mail. No checks will be accepted either way.
