FCI Pollock is a medium-security federal correctional facility for male offenders located in Louisiana. It is part of the larger Pollock Federal Correctional Complex, run and operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons under the United States Department of Justice. The facility is strategically located about 15 miles north of Alexandria.

Inmates at this facility are housed in one and two-person cells. The security is top-notch, with highly-trained federal correctional officers manning all the structures. This facility has housed high-profile criminals such as Gene Gotti, a member of the famous Gambino crime family, and Richard Scutari, the security head of the white supremacist group named ‘The Order.’

Inmates housed in this facility are offered incredible rehabilitation programs that help them acquire new skills and turn their lives around. Consequently, they adopt a new positive attitude, develop skills that can secure them jobs when released from incarceration, and become better yet productive members of society. Some of these programs include: Library Services, apprenticeship, vocational training programs, residential drug abuse programs, psychology services, educational programs and health services.

Inmate Search at FCI Pollock

Since 1982, all federal facilities have been putting up information about federal inmates in the public domain through their website. This means that if you want to know anything about an inmate held at any federal prison, including FCI Pollock, you can look it up on this BOP website using the recommended procedure.

To locate your inmate of interest, you enter their full name or Federal Identification Number. However, your search is bound to yield lots of results, making it a little challenging to quickly trace an inmate, especially if you are in a hurry. To nail down an inmate faster, you can introduce several other constants such as race, date of birth, even age, DCDC Number, FBI Number, INS Number, or BOP Register Number. These constants are usually unique for each inmate hence will offer better and more accurate results faster.

Inmate Funds

All BOP-managed facilities allow inmates to set up commissary accounts and receive funds from credible sources, including friends and relatives. The inmates use these funds to purchase complimentary items that do not appear on individual facility’s provisions menu. BOP facilities, including FCI Pollock, take care of their inmates by providing them with basic needs but are offered with limitations and not the best quality. To make life easier for their inmates, these facilities have an inmate canteen where inmates can purchase additional items.

Inmates can purchase items such as envelopes, complimentary food, snacks, clothing, writing materials, among other things. However, inmates can only access these items if only they have funds in their commissary items.

The inmates can receive funds into their accounts through several approved avenues. The funds are received and processed every day of the week, including during holidays between 7 am and 9 pm. The funds take between two to four hours to reflect in an inmate’s account. The funds sent after 9 pm are processed the following day.

However, before you send the funds, you have to follow the following ways for your funds to be delivered successfully:

  • Conduct an inmate search to ensure that your inmate is currently housed at FCI Pollock.
  • Gather the inmate’s and the facility’s relevant details.
  • You can then send the money through your preferred means.

It is imperative to cross-check both the inmate’s and the facility’s details to ensure the money is delivered to the right inmate. If you enter the wrong information, the transaction might not go through, or even worse, the funds could be gifted to the wrong inmate, and it could be problematic to retract the funds.

The money to an inmate can be sent through the following ways:

·       Through MoneyGram

Inmates at all BOP-managed correctional facilities, including FCI Pollock, can receive funds electronically via MoneyGram Express Payment Program. To send money through MoneyGram, the following information comes in handy:

  • Account Number; this is the inmate’s eight-digit registered number followed by their last name.
  • Company Name: Federal Bureau of Prisons.
  • City & State: Washington DC
  • Receive Code: 7932
  • Beneficiary: Inmate’s full name

With MoneyGram, you can send the money at any close MoneyGram location. You can call 1-800-926-9400 or check out their website to inquire about their nearest location. At their location, you will be required to fill their MoneyGram ExpressPayment Blue Form.

You can also send online and enter the recommended receive code, 7932, or the receiver name, Federal Bureau of Prisons. You can then enter your intended amount, up to $ 300. If you are sending the funds for the first time, you will have to create a new account with your profile. They accept credit and debit cards.

·       Through Western Union

You can also send your funds through the Western Union Quick Collect Program. However, this means also required the entry of an inmate’s and facility’s correct details. This will prevent sending money to the wrong inmate or the cancellation of your transaction. When sending your funds, enter the following information:

  • Account number
  • Attention line: Inmate’s full registered name
  • City Code: FBOP, DC

This avenue allows you to send the funds at any close Western Union Location. If you are not sure of the nearest location, you can call 1-800-325-6000 or check out their website. You can pay in cash or use your cards. You will also be required to fill a transfer form.

You can also transfer the funds over the phone by engaging 1-800-634-3422. You can use our debit or credit card. Western Union also presents an online transfer via their website. When you are on their website, click ‘Quick Collect’ and transfer the money with any of your cards.

·       Through The United States Postal Service

FCI Pollock also accepts funds sent by Money Orders through the United States Postal Service. You will be required to present an inmate’s full committed name and registration number. If you send a non-postal money order, it will be put on hold for about 15 days. You cannot send personal checks or cash through this service.

If you send funds through this means, you must add a return address on the envelope’s upper left-hand corner. This presents a way to resend the money back to the sender in case the funds cannot be delivered to the intended recipient.

The delivery address should have an inmate’s correct details, including full name and registration number.
