Located in Stanley, Wisconsin, the Stanley Correctional Institution holds male inmates that have broken state or federal laws. This is a medium-security prison. Construction on the prison began in 1998. The facility is on a 100-acre property, with 45 square acres within the perimeter fence of the complex. The perimeter fence has both electricity and razor wire to stop any kind of escape attempt.

Stanley Corrections is made up of five different housing units, each of which is dedicated to a specific type of inmate. The first unit holds inmates that have mental health problems. In order to care for their specific needs to the best of the prison’s ability, these inmates are separated from the rest of the prison population. Unit Two is dedicated to the holding of prisoners that are still in the intake process or are part of the Badger State Industries Program. Inmates in this program are employed in a variety of positions to provide for the public, such as custodians, respite workers, and other jobs. Unit Three houses inmates that are undergoing a cognitive intervention program. This program is designed to help inmates control destructive urges and promote healthier thinking. Inmates in this program typically have issues with anger management or domestic abuse. The general population is also held in this unit. Unit Four is reserved for inmates on their way out of the facility, either through early release or discharge at the end of their sentences. The last unit, Unit Five, is the educational unit. Inmates participating in the educational courses offered by the prison are housed in this unit.

For more information, you can call the prison at (715) 644-2960 or visit their official website.

Inmate Search

Inmates held within the Stanley Correctional Institution can be searched for online. This online search does not cover city or county facilities. If an inmate is not found through this search, it may mean that they are in one of these other detention centers. If this is the case, you can contact the city or county jail in the locale of their conviction and inquire personally.

To look up an inmate that is being held by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, visit https://appsdoc.wi.gov/lop/. You can also use the service VINELink. These search functions work best when you have the most information possible about an inmate. You can enter the first and last name, race, gender, birth year, zip code, or prisoner number to locate an inmate. The offender search provided by the DOC also allows you to place certain filters on your search, such as limiting the search to sex offenders, or including aliases in the search.

Ordering Care Packages

If a loved one has been placed in prison, you can still support them by sending them a care package. These care packages are ordered from specific catalogs that have been approved by the prisons. You can order care packages from these three companies:

JL Marcus at (800) 236-2611

Access at (800) 546-6283

Union Supply Company at (855) 247-6093

By ordering a care package for an inmate, you will be able to supply them with a wide range of items that can be used for hobbies while they are in prison.

Calling Inmates at Stanley Correctional Institutional

You can still communicate with incarcerated individuals through the phone. While you will not be able to call them directly, they will be able to call you when they are granted access to the telephones in the facility. The company that handles this process is called ICSolutions. They can be reached at (877) 870-3259. ICSolutions lets inmates establish their own paid accounts to fund their phone calls. You can also choose to accept collect calls from Stanley Correctional Institution by setting up an account ahead of time. This is done by visiting www.icsolutions.com or by calling (888) 506-8407.

Calls are charged at a rate of $0.06 per minute, along with any associated fees. For any issues with billing, please contact ICSolutions.

Sending E-Messages

Inmates in the Stanley Correctional Institution can receive electronic messages from family or friends through CorrLinks. This process requires the inmate to first register their friend or family member within the CorrLinks kiosk located in the prison. Once this is completed, an email with a link to join CorrLinks will be sent to the friend or family member.

This is not an instant messaging system. All messages sent and received through the CorrLinks system will be subject to examination by jail staff before they are delivered. These messages will stay within CorrLinks itself, they will not be sent to your email address. The level of security that an inmate requires will determine how frequently they may access the CorrLinks system.

Messages sent through CorrLinks cost $0.10 per message. If you receive a request to join CorrLinks by an inmate, you are not required to accept. You can ignore the message, accept it, or block it (in which case future communication from the inmate through this system will be denied).

Depositing Money for Inmates

The Stanley Correctional Institution requires inmates to pay for certain services, such as making outgoing calls or buying items from the commissary. If you like, you can send money to inmates to allow them to access these services. You have a few options for depositing money in the account of an inmate. Wisconsin uses Access Corrections to handle monetary transactions of this nature. Access Corrections lets you deposit money through the phone, over the internet, or in person at the facility. Please note that you must have the full legal name of an offender as well as their offender number to send them money.

To send money over the phone, call 1-866-345-1884. You can deposit money by using a credit or debit card. There is a fee of $6.95 for depositing money through this method.

If you prefer to send money through the internet, you can visit accesscorrections.com. This method also allows you to use a card to send funds, but has the same $6.95 processing fee.

To deposit money in person, go to the jail at 100 Corrections Drive, Stanley, WI 54768-6500. There is a kiosk in the lobby for you to deposit funds by cash or by card. This kiosk has a minimum transaction fee of $3.50.
