However, the Rogers County jail has the capability of holding inmates across a variety of security levels, because any type of security risk can arise in temporary holding facilities. This facility is flexible enough to respond to an ever-changing population of inmates with different needs.

Communicating with the Inmates

Offenders held at Rogers County Jail can legally write mails to friends and family and receive them through the United States Postal Service. Inmates can purchase mailing essentials such as stamps, envelopes, and writing materials through their commissary accounts. Those inmates that cannot afford these items are considered indigent and can freely receive them from the jail authorities. However, sending and receiving mails is accompanied by strict rules and guidelines. Such include the following:

  • General mails to friends and relatives can only be in the form of regular letters, plain white postcards, approved greeting cards.
  • Official documents that entail filling will be delivered with relevant instructions if sent by mail.
  • Incoming mails should have the proper inmate credentials.
  • The mails should have an inmate’s first and last name on top of the envelope.
  • No writings and drawings on the outer parts of the envelope except the names.
  • Outgoing mails are not sealed until the jail staff has inspected them.
  • Inmates can receive up to three photographs not larger than 4” x 6” and not Polaroid-styled.
  • Letters cannot be more than four pages.
  • Incoming mails, except for legal mails, are also inspected by the jail authorities before being delivered to the recipients.

Mails are also not expected to have the following: Markings with paint, markers, or crayons; should only be written in black ink or pencil, stickers and glitters, watermarks or any form of stain, defaced or altered postcards, greeting cards or postcards with embossing or electronic, colored envelopes, collage pictures, lipstick or perfume, nudity and gang signs.

Legal mails from an inmate’s attorney or the justice system are opened in the inmate’s presence. It is inspected but will not be read like general correspondence unless there is reasonable suspicion. Outgoing legal mails are also inspected before they are sealed in the presence of the inmate.

Inmate Commissaries

Most Oklahoma jails, including Rogers County Jail, do not allow inmates to receive items from external sources. However, they have a jail canteen or commissary store where they can purchase extra items not offered by the jail authorities. Some of the commissary items that they can access at this store include:

  • Extra pieces of clothing
  • Writing materials
  • Snacks
  • Envelopes
  • Hygiene products
  • Food

The Rogers County Jail administration provides the basic needs that an inmate needs to keep going in jail. However, these provisions are seriously rationed and might not be of the best standard. Consequently, commissary items are a necessity that an inmate could really do with.

To purchase the commissaries, an inmate has to have a commissary account and fund it accordingly. An inmate’s loved ones, such as friends and family, can help fund this account by sending money via the approved avenues. To send funds to an inmate in this jail, you can use the following ways:

  • By calling; you can deposit funds into an inmate’s account by engaging Prodigy Solutions, Inc at (870) 627-5476.
  • Online; you can also send your funds by visiting jailatm.com. Ensure you provide the correct inmate details for the money to be delivered successfully. This avenue allows you to use your debit or credit card.
  • Via mail; you can also send money orders or cashier’s checks payable to Prodigy Solutions, Inc. These should then have the correct address details, including name, phone number, and of course, details about Rogers County Jail.
  • At the Jail Kiosk; if you can effortlessly access the facility, you can physically deposit your funds at the kiosk in the jail lobby.

Visitation

Inmates are allowed non-contact visits through a glass partition and online video visitation via www.prodigysales.com. To make a video call, you have to establish an account on the provided account and fund it accordingly. Whenever an inmate wants to call you, you will receive an SMS with the link to the video call.
