You can also call 937-562-4840 to get general prisoner information such as whether a prisoner is at the facility or not.

After you have completed your search, you will want to write down pertinent information such as the offender’s date of birth, arrest date, booking number, and any other information you think you may need.

This information will help you to be able to send mail, speak to an inmate, and visit. Information on the website is updated twice per hour.

Staying in Contact with an Inmate

Inmates are able to purchase items such as clothes, shoes, hygiene products, books, paper, pencils, stamps, envelopes, MP3 players, headphones, tablets (no internet), snacks, and other items they may want.

In order for an inmate to purchase these items, they must have money on their account. Friends and family can put money on this account.

There are automated kiosks located throughout the Greene County Jail lobby where you can put money on an inmate’s account 7 days a week. VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and cash are accepted at these machines.

You can also send cash to the prisoner in the mail. No checks will be accepted either way.

Posting Bonds

Because the Greene County Jail is a county jail, prisoners who have not yet been sentenced are sometimes able to be bonded out.

Bonds are able to be posted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the Prisoner Property Room window in the lobby. To find out how much a bond is, you can call 937-562-4840.

Keep in mind that the state of Ohio requires a bail surcharge in addition to the bond amount. This can be as much as $85 for each bond and must be paid when you post bond.
