It can be a challenging time knowing a loved one is in prison, but the Maryland DPSCS makes searching for your loved one easy. You will need to do an inmate search to find the location of an offender and thus receive phone calls and send money.

From the DPSCS homepage, you will find a link to “find an inmate” on the farthest left side of the page. From there, you can easily search for an inmate by first and last name.

Once you find an offender, be sure to write down which facility they are in as well as any other pertinent information that you may need.

How to Talk to an Inmate

Once you do an inmate search, you will be able to send mail directly to the offender. Each facility has a different way of allowing inmates to communicate with loved ones. Therefore, you will need to go to this link and click on the facility the offender is at to find their procedures.

From there, you will find each facilities inmate phone information, visiting information, and all of the contact information that you will need while your loved one is there.

For the safety of the community, workers, and inmates, it is important that you visit the facility site in which an inmate is in and follow all rules and procedures regarding sending money, visiting, and speaking with an inmate.
