Types of Correctional Facilities in Kansas

Those who are serving their sentence in a Kansas state prison will be overseen by the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC). Through a centralized inmate database, you can easily search for an offender.

Keep in mind that the KDOC website will only show information for inmates in a federal person. It will not show records for those in county jails, police jails, or city jails in Kansas.

Mission of KDOC

Every prison throughout the states has their own unique mission that they wish to uphold. The Kansas Department of Corrections is filled with hardworking individuals who promote public safety by providing highly structured community supervision to felony offenders. They hold offenders accountable to their victims and the community, and they help them to re-enter society productively and lawfully.
